Laura Zavala is an assistant professor of computer science
at Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York
(CUNY). Previously, she was a research scientist at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). She has
several years of experience in applications of artificial intelligence to information search, recommender, social, and
mobile systems. She has a B.S. in computer science and an
M.S. in artificial intelligence from the University of Veracruz, Mexico. She has a Ph.D. in computer science and
engineering from the University of South Carolina.
Pradeep K. Murukannaiah is a Ph.D. student in computer
science at North Carolina State University. His research
interests include mobile and social computing, machine
learning, and multiagent systems. Murukannaiah has a B.E.
in information science and engineering from University
Visveswaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore, and an
M.S. in computer science from North Carolina State University.
Nithyananthan Poosamani is a Ph.D. student in computer science at North Carolina State University. He received
his B.E. in electronics and communication engineering
from PSG College of Technology, Anna University, Tamil
Nadu, India. He worked as a software engineer in 3G Radio
Network Controllers for two years before joining North
