Vassilis P. Plagianakos (PhD 2003, University of Patras) is
an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics at the University of Thessaly, Greece. He is currently head of the Board of the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society.
Christos Tjortjis (PhD 2006, University of Manchester) is a
tenured assistant professor at the School of Science and
Technology, International Hellenic University, Greece. Previously, he was a lecturer at the University of Manchester
Institute of Science and Technology and the University of
Manchester, UK. He is vice chair of the Board of the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society.
Ergina Kavallieratou (PhD 2000, University of Patras) is an
associate professor in the Department of Information and
Communication Systems Engineering, University of the
Aegean. She has worked as a visitor researcher in universities in the US, Germany, France, Spain, and Mexico. Kavallieratou has been a board member of the Hellenic Artificial
Intelligence Society since 2014.
Dimitris Vrakas (PhD 2004, Aristotle University of Thessa-loniki) is an assistant professor in the Department of Informatics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Vrakas
has been the treasurer of the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence
Society since 2017 and a board member since 2015.
Nikolaos Mavridis (PhD 2007, Massachusetts Institute of
Technology) is an independent researcher and consultant.
He has previously served as an assistant professor at NYU
Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates University, as well
as a researcher at NCSR Demokritos. He was the founding
chair of the IEEE United Arab Emirates Robotics and
Automation Society, and vice chair of the Hellenic Artificial
Georgios Petasis (PhD 2011, University of Athens) is a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Informatics and
Telecommunications, National Centre for Scientific
Research “Demokritos,” where he has been involved in
national and international projects. Petasis was treasurer of
the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society from 2012 to
Konstantinos Blekas received the diploma degree (1993)
and the PhD degree (1997) in electrical and computer engineering from the National Technical University of Athens.
He is currently on the faculty of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Ioannina,
Greece. His research interests include machine learning and
Anastasia Krithara (PhD 2008, Pierre and Marie Curie University Paris VI) is a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute
of Informatics and Telecommunications, National Centre
for Scientific Research “Demokritos,” where she is involved
in national and international projects. Before that, she was
a research engineer at the Xerox Research Centre Europe, in
Grenoble, France. Krithara has been a board member of
the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society since 2017.
